What is on the screen

From top to bottom.

How many nights guests can book

While Hunter is on, the page opens with one sentence about the next 30 nights, counted from today in your hotel’s time:
Guests can book your Surprise Room on 26 of the next 30 nights.
Under it, one line for each reason the other nights cannot be booked, with their dates: The count is for a guest who comes to you directly, with the number of adults your room is priced for. A night counts when a guest can book a stay that includes it. If the count cannot be made, the page says The nights guests can book couldn’t be counted just now. with Try again. It never shows a number it could not work out.

Hunter

Hunter’s card carries an On / Off switch and one status line: the way the room is sold, then open for booking, add a rate plan to accept bookings, or Hunter is off.

How should Hunter sell this room?

Two choices:
  • Surprise Room (Run of house) — guests book a room at a special rate, and the hotel picks the room at check-in, based on availability.
  • Room type — Guests book a specific room type. Your receptionist describes it using only the details you enter.

The room

One row for the room: its cover photo, its name, a short line such as Up to 4 guests · 3 rate plans · 6 photos, and a status — Open for booking, No rate plan yet or Hunter is off. Select the row to open the room’s page.

Who can see this rate?

  • Verified guests only — Only guests who verify their phone number can see the rate. A returning guest who verifies sees their own rate.
  • Everyone — Everyone can see the rate without a code. Guests verify their phone number when they book, and a returning guest who verifies sees their own rate.

What you do here

1

Switch Hunter on

Use the switch on Hunter’s card. It needs at least one active rate plan — without one the screen answers Create at least one rate plan before enabling. Add plans on Rate plans.
2

Read the opening sentence and fix what it names

A night with no price is fixed on Calendar. A night the Minimum price stops is fixed in Capacity & pricing on the room’s page; a night a strategy stops, on Strategies.
3

Choose how Hunter sells the room

Select Surprise Room or Room type. The choice is not saved here: select Set up the room type (or Switch to the Surprise Room) and finish the switch on the room’s page with Save and switch.
4

Choose who can see the rate

Select Verified guests only or Everyone. Everyone opens a short confirmation of what changes: tick I understand this rate will be visible to everyone, without a code. and select Make the rate visible to everyone. Verified guests only saves as soon as you select it.
5

Open the room to edit it

Select the room’s row. Its name, features, description, photos, capacity and prices are edited on the room’s page.
Everyone makes the rate public. Anyone who opens your chat can see it without a code. A guest who comes to you directly still verifies their phone — the code is asked when they book, not before — and a rate you give to returning guests is never shown publicly.
If your role can only view the reservations setup, the page says You can view the rooms. Changes are made by someone with edit access to the reservations setup. The switch and both choices are locked; the room’s page still opens.

What happens next

  • Hunter on: your AI staff offer the room to guests. Hunter off: guests are not offered this room. Everything below stays as it is. — nothing you set up is lost.
  • Who can see this rate applies at once. With Verified guests only, a guest confirms their phone with a code before the price is shown. With Everyone, the price is shown first and the code is asked when they book.
  • A change of how the room is sold takes effect only when you save it on the room’s page. Until then guests keep seeing the room as it is sold today.
  • The opening sentence updates as you change prices, the Minimum price or strategies, so you can come back and check that the nights you expect to sell are counted.
