The room page is where you describe and price the room guests book. It opens when you select the room on Rooms, and it is headed with the room’s own name — for example Surprise Room. A preview on the right shows what guests see as you edit.

What is on the screen

The header carries the room’s name, the chips Hunter and Open for booking (or No rate plan yet, Hunter is off, Not saved yet), a line saying how the room is sold — Surprise Room — the hotel picks the room at check-in or Room type — guests book a specific room type — and Save changes. Save is available once something has changed. A strip of links takes you to each section: Room details · Features · Description · Photos · Capacity & pricing · Rate plans.

Room details

  • Room content language — the language you write the room’s name and description in. Guests read them in their own language; until you choose one, every guest reads them exactly as you typed them.
  • Room name — Shown to guests. Up to 100 characters.
  • For a Room type, also Size and Beds — the size in m² or sq ft, and each bed type with how many. The box Guests see shows the line guests are told, for example 32 m² · King bed + sofa bed · sleeps 3. Size and beds never change a price or how many guests can book; “sleeps” comes from Capacity & pricing.
Once a language is saved, See translations shows the name and description in each language guests read them in. You can correct any translation; your wording is kept until you change your own text.

Features

Headed What every room in this offer has for a Surprise Room, or What this room has for a Room type. Tick what the room has: the common features are shown, and All features opens the full list with a search. Your receptionist confirms these. Unselected features are never confirmed or ruled out.

Description

  • A Surprise Room without a description of its own shows our standard text — each guest reads it in their own language. Edit this text or Write your own to replace it.
  • A Room type shows the facts its description is written from, and Generate description: it writes a draft from the room’s name, size, beds and features, in the language you write in. The draft appears as Suggested description — Draft — not saved yet — with Use this text, Try again and Discard.
  • The description holds up to 500 characters. A line under it says whether its translations are ready.
When a room is sold by name, a card headed Before you sell this room by name lists the sentences of its description — and counts the sentences in your receptionist’s instructions — that still describe it as the Surprise Room.

Photos

What guests see when this room is offered. The first photo is the cover. Choose from your photo library adds photos uploaded on Photos; drag to reorder, and the first is the cover. A room shows up to 30 photos. Photos are Saved as you go — they do not wait for Save changes.

Capacity & pricing

How many guests fit, and how the nightly rate follows the number of adults.
  • Max adults, Max children, Max guests — Maximum guests per room, including children and infants. A larger party is offered more rooms.
  • The pricing arrangement your room is on, and the number of adults its base rate covers — Set up by Hotel Linkage. The sentence under it says where you enter the rates.
  • The rates by number of adults, depending on that arrangement: an Extra adult fee for each adult above the base; or Prices by number of adults — for each number of adults, a percentage or an amount below, the same as, or above the base, with Seasonal pricing rules for dates that differ; or a rate per number of adults, each entered on Calendar.
  • Minimum price — Prevent prices below your minimum from being saved. On, it takes one minimum a night, or one per number of adults.
Child prices and the child age groups are set on Rate plans.

Rate plans

The plans guests can book this room under. Each active plan with its terms in one line, and Manage rate plans. Every rate plan is sold with this room.

The preview

  • What guests see — the room as the chat shows it: the cover, the name, the description, and under them the rate plans with their prices for the first night guests can book. The foot names that night and the party, for example Sat, Oct 3 · 1 night · 2 adults — the first night guests can book. The name and description follow your unsaved edits; the prices follow what is saved.
  • What your receptionist says — sample questions a guest might ask about this room and the answer your receptionist gives. From this page only — never from training documents.

What you do here

1

Choose the room content language

Pick the language you write in, so every guest can read the room in theirs.
2

Name the room and tick its features

For a Surprise Room, tick only what every room that may be assigned has. For a Room type, tick what this room has.
3

Write the description

Keep the standard text, edit it, or write your own. For a Room type, select Generate description, read the draft, select Use this text, and change anything you would not say yourself.
4

Choose the photos

Select Choose from your photo library, then drag the photo you want first — it becomes the cover.
5

Set capacity and prices

Set Max adults, Max children and Max guests, the rates by number of adults your arrangement asks for, and a Minimum price if you use one.
6

Check the preview, then save

Read What guests see and What your receptionist says, then select Save changes.

Switching between a Surprise Room and a Room type

1

Start on Rooms

Under How should Hunter sell this room?, choose the other option and select Set up the room type (or Switch to the Surprise Room).
2

Finish on the room page

A banner says what is changing. For a Room type, give the room a name of its own — Surprise Room is refused — and add its size, beds, features and description.
3

Save and switch

Select Save and switch. Keep the Surprise Room (or Keep the room type) leaves everything as it was.
Your receptionist says what this page says, and nothing else about the room. A ticked feature is confirmed to guests; one you leave unticked is neither confirmed nor ruled out. For a Surprise Room, a feature that only some rooms have must stay unticked.
Selling a room by name makes its description a promise. A description written for the Surprise Room reads as a promise about this room type. Read it again before you switch — the card Before you sell this room by name points to the sentences to check.
The Minimum price works in two places. A price below it can’t be saved on Calendar, and a night whose price would fall below it — after a strategy, for example — is not sold rather than sold cheaply. Rooms names the nights it stops.
If your role can only view the reservations setup, the page says You can view this room. Changes are made by someone with edit access to the reservations setup. Every field is locked.

What happens next

  • After Save changes, guests see the new name, description and features in the chat, and your receptionist answers from them. The name and description are translated into the languages guests use; a language that is not fully translated shows your own text to that guest — never a half-translated card.
  • After Save and switch, Hunter sells the room the new way. Where you have a phone receptionist, the screen confirms Your phone receptionist now describes the room the same way. — or tells you if that update is still pending.
  • Where your prices by number of adults are calculated from the base rate, saving recalculates those Calendar prices for the months ahead; the section says until which month.
  • What guests see redraws after each save, so you can check the rows guests will be quoted.
