What is on the screen
Brand look
Your hotel name, your colour, her avatar, and how she is presented. There is room for a video, and for how your staff appear alongside her. Match your hotel rather than leaving the defaults. Guests should feel they are talking to your hotel, not to a tool bolted onto it.Chat display
How the widget looks before anyone opens it — the two bubble lines that invite a guest in, and where the button sits on desktop and on a phone. Keep the bubble lines short. They are an invitation, not an announcement. The words around the conversation
Small pieces of copy that do a lot of work:- Greeting message — her opening line
- Input placeholder — the grey hint in the message box
- Conversation starters — the two suggestions a guest can tap instead of typing. Make these the questions you are actually asked most; they set the guest’s expectation of what she is for
- Button and tooltip wording — what the ask, call and rate controls say
Guest communication
Which other ways of reaching your hotel appear alongside the chat. Each channel your hotel has is a switch here, so you decide what a guest is offered inside the widget.Video timestamps
If your brand block uses a video, this is where you mark the moments in it. The screen has its own explanation of how they are used.Guest terms and feedback
The consent line a guest sees, the full terms behind it, and the disclaimer. Also whether guests can rate a conversation, and how.Languages
Add the languages your guests actually arrive in, and set a default. The widget works out which to open in, in this order: a language in the page address, then what that guest chose last time, then their browser’s language, then your default.Adding a language is not translating your library. She replies in the language the guest writes in either way. This list controls the widget’s own wording — buttons, invitations, the consent line.
Where she can be used
Allowed domains — the sites permitted to show your widget. Add your own, and nothing you do not recognise. Leaving it open lets someone else run your receptionist on their page. Daily limits — a ceiling you set on chat messages and voice calls per day. A control you choose, not a billing mechanism. Intelligent abuse protection — a switch for an automatic guard that limits unusually rapid requests from a single guest, so bots cannot hammer your widget. Separate from the daily limits above: the limits are a ceiling you choose, this is a guard you turn on or off. Leave it on unless you have a reason not to.Beyond your website
- Mobile app — settings for presenting her as an app on a guest’s phone
- Kiosk link — a direct address you can open on a lobby screen or tablet, with no website needed
- Custom domain — serve her from an address of your own instead of the default one

Name, colour, avatar.
2
Write the words a guest reads first
Bubble lines, greeting, and the two conversation starters. These decide whether a guest opens her at all.
3
Put your own terms in
Your wording, your link.
4
Add your languages and set a default
The ones your guests actually arrive in.
5
Choose which channels a guest is offered
Under Guest communication, switch on the ways you actually want guests to reach you.
6
Restrict the domains and set your limits
Your site, and a daily ceiling you are comfortable with.
7
Copy the code to your website
Then open your own site in a private window and talk to her the way a guest would.
