# Photos

> The library of photos your receptionist shows guests — by place, and by room.

**Photos** is *the library your receptionist shows guests*: your hotel's photos, sorted by place, and the photos of the room guests book. Your receptionist can only show a guest what is on this page.

## What is on the screen

**The opening sentence** says how much of your hotel guests can see — *Your receptionist can show 12 of 18 places in your hotel.* — with how many photos you have and how many more fit. **See what is missing** jumps to the places with no photo yet.

**Albums** — one for each place, and one for each room guests book, under the room's guest-facing name. The places are Room, Bathroom, View, Terrace, Exterior & entrance, Lobby & reception, Restaurant, Breakfast, Bar, Pool, Spa, Gym, Beach, Garden, Activities & entertainment, Meeting & events, Kids, Surroundings, Property map and Other.

The first photo of an album is its **Cover**. For a room, the order is the room's own gallery, and its cover is the photo on the booking card.

**A photo**, when you select it, shows:

* **Where it belongs** — its place.
* **What this photo shows** — its caption, up to 120 characters. *Your receptionist says this when it shows the photo.*
* **Also show it in** — the rooms that show it as well.
* **Delete**.

**Not photographed yet** — the places with no photo. *Your receptionist can describe them, but cannot show them yet.* Mark a place your hotel does not have with the × in its corner.

## What you do here

    Select **Add photos**, or drop files on an album. When a photo's place is not clear, the screen asks *Where does this photo belong?* — pick one place; you can move any photo later.

  <Step title="Write what each photo shows">
    Open a photo and fill in **What this photo shows**. Your receptionist says it when it shows the photo.

  <Step title="Choose each album's cover">
    Drag the photo you want first, or use **Make it the … cover**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Put photos in the room's gallery">
    Use **Also show it in** on a photo, or **Choose from your photo library** on [the room page](/front-desk/guerrilla/room). A room shows up to 30 photos.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Close the gaps">
    Work through **Not photographed yet**, and mark with the × what your hotel does not have, so it stops being listed.

  **What a photo must be:** *JPG, PNG or WebP · up to 8 MB · at least 1200 px on the long side (2000 px for a property map). Landscape photos look best.* The library holds up to 150 photos.

  **Deleting a photo can't be undone.** *It leaves the library and every room that shows it. There is no undo.*

## What happens next

When a guest asks to see a place in the chat on your website, your receptionist can show its photos with your captions. The room's gallery appears on the card guests book from, cover first — and on [the room page](/front-desk/guerrilla/room), **What guests see** shows it the same way.
