# Campaigns

> A link you can publish, with an offer attached and a limit on how far it goes.

**Campaigns** turn a channel into something you can publish. A campaign is a **link** — you put it somewhere, and guests who arrive through it are recognised as having come from that campaign.

## What is on the screen

A list of campaigns with their status and a filter, and a dialog to create or edit one:

| Field            |                                                                                                                                                            |

| **Name** | What you call it |
| **Source**       | Which [channel](/front-desk/guerrilla/channels) it belongs to                                                                                              |
| **Strategies** | **The offer.** You attach existing [strategies](/front-desk/guerrilla/strategies) here — they are what changes the price for a guest arriving on this link |
| **Applies to** | All active rate plans, or the ones you choose |
| **Until** | When the campaign stops |
| **Max bookings** | A cap, or no cap |
| **OTP gated** | Whether a guest verifies a phone number by SMS **before seeing prices** |
| **Public link** | The link you publish |
| **Budget** | An **amount and currency for what you spent advertising this**, in euros or dollars |
| **Active**       |                                                                                                                                                            |

<Warning>
  **Budget is what you paid, not what the guest gets.** It is the advertising spend, and its only job is to make the return-on-spend figure on [Performance](/front-desk/guerrilla/performance) meaningful. What the guest gets comes from the **Strategies** you attach.

## What you do here

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the channel and the strategy first">
    A campaign needs a source and an offer, and neither is created here. Add the channel under [Channels](/front-desk/guerrilla/channels) and the offer under [Strategies](/front-desk/guerrilla/strategies) — if you have no active strategies, the dialog tells you so and there is nothing to attach.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Attach the strategies that make up the offer">
    Attaching a strategy makes it **eligible** to affect quotes from this link. It applies only where its own conditions match — so attaching one is not the same as every guest on the link seeing its price.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set an end date and a cap you would accept">
    **Until** and **Max bookings** are how a campaign closes itself. Without them it runs until somebody remembers it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Decide whether the offer needs a gate">
    **OTP gated** means the guest verifies a phone number by SMS before any price is shown. Use it when a link will be public enough to be passed around.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record what you spent">
    Enter the **Budget** if you paid for the promotion. Spend in another currency is converted by you before you type it — the field takes euros or dollars.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  **A public link is public.** Anyone who has it can reach your prices, whether or not they were the audience you had in mind. The cap, the end date and the gate are what keep that bounded — set them when you create the campaign, not after it has spread.

## What happens next

A guest arriving through the link is recognised as coming from this campaign, and each attached strategy can apply **when its own conditions match that guest and that stay** — so two guests on the same link do not necessarily see the same price. The campaign is recorded on the booking — visible in the drawer on [Reservations](/front-desk/guerrilla/reservations).

**Results are read on [Performance](/front-desk/guerrilla/performance)**, not on this screen: revenue by campaign, and the return against the budget you entered.
