# Archived Inquiries

> Enquiries you have finished with, kept as a record.

**Archived Inquiries** is where an enquiry goes once you archive it from the [active list](/front-desk/event-inquiries/active) — whether it turned into business or not.

***

## What is on the screen

The same table as the active list, showing archived enquiries: what was asked, who asked, when it was wanted, the party size, the status it ended on, and where it came from. The same filters apply.

***

## What you do here

<Steps>
  <Step title="Look up an enquiry from a past event">
    Useful when the same company or family comes back — what they asked for last time, and what was agreed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check what you closed and why">
    The status it ended on, with your team's internal notes, is the record of the decision.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Bring one back if it is alive again">
    An archived enquiry can be **restored**. It returns to the [active list](/front-desk/event-inquiries/active) as **New**, with its history intact.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  **Read the closed ones occasionally.** A run of enquiries closed for the same reason — a date you could not do, a party size you cannot seat — is telling you something an individual enquiry cannot.

## What happens next

**Restoring puts an enquiry back on the [active list](/front-desk/event-inquiries/active) as New**, carrying everything already on it.

That is why archiving is not a decision you have to be sure about — and why the same company coming back should be restored rather than added again. Adding a second enquiry for a conversation you already have leaves you with two records of one customer.
