# Profile

> Your receptionist reads your Training library, builds her own identity from it, and waits for you to approve it.

**Profile** is where your receptionist becomes a specific person for your hotel. She reads everything in your Training library and writes her own identity from it. Your job is to check it, correct it, name her, and publish.

## What is on the screen

When you open Profile for the first time, she offers to build herself from your library. After she has read it, you move through a short review:

| **How she speaks**                  | Her manner with guests: warm, formal, brief, and so on.                                                                      |
| **How she addresses guests**        | What she calls a guest, and the name she goes by herself.                                                                    |
| **Review & publish**                | Everything together, one last time, before it goes live.                                                                     |

Once she is published, Profile becomes her record: who she is today, when she was published, and what she is connected to.

## What you do here

    This is the important part. She is describing your hotel back to you. If something is wrong here, it will be wrong in every answer she gives.

  <Step title="Correct what she got wrong">
    You do not rewrite her introduction. You correct the facts underneath it — the property type, what your hotel offers — and she rewrites it herself from your corrections.

    A wrong fact usually means the document it came from is wrong too, so it is worth fixing there as well, or it comes back next time.

  <Step title="Choose how she speaks and how she addresses guests">
    This is your hotel's manner, not a technical setting. A resort and a business hotel greet people differently.

  <Step title="Give her a name">
    Guests will meet her by this name.

    The screen confirms each channel separately. Read what it says rather than assuming it all went through — see below.

## What happens next

Publishing puts her identity live, and the screen confirms each channel separately rather than assuming.

Chat takes the new identity immediately. The phone line is updated separately and can occasionally fail or finish unconfirmed — the screen says which happened. If it reports anything other than success, publish again rather than assuming callers heard the new version.

You can come back and edit her identity whenever your hotel changes — a new restaurant, a renovation, a change of policy. Publish again and the new version takes over.

<Tip>
  **Re-read her identity after a big upload.** She built herself from the library as it was that day. When you add a substantial amount of new material, it is worth returning here so she can take it into account.

<Warning>
  **If she could not finish reading your materials**, the screen tells you so rather than publishing half an identity. The usual cause is a library that is empty or a document that carries no readable text. Fix the document and try again.
